Chocolate Connoisseur
In Costa Rica, the pineapple is a primary export. It’s widely available year-round. This sweet and acidic tropical fruit is enjoyed by natives in drinks and fruit salads. It is often eaten fresh with a sprinkle of salt!
Pineapple lore offers insight into this regal fruit’s history. It is said that Christopher Columbus himself named the fruit due to its resemblance to a pinecone. Explorers brought pineapples back to Europe, where it quickly became a symbol of opulence and high living. King Louis XIV of France was so eager to try one that he bit in before removing the skin and cut his mouth on the sharp exterior!
Today, the pineapple and its likeness are signs of hospitality and abundance. Our dark chocolate-covered pineapple jellies are just the right offering for colleagues and friends.
